A total of 17 student members and an advisor from IEM-USM Student Section participated in E-Finity Run 2016 held on 18 December 2016. This event was organzed by Young Engineers Section (YES), The Institution of Engineers, Malaysia (Penang Branch). It was a 6km run in Balik Pulau, Penang. The aims of this event are to promote a healty lifestyle, raise awareness of self-development and embrace the opportunity ahead.
The 7th IEM-USM Student Section Annual General Meeting was conducted on 19 October 2016 at DK6 from 8.30pm to 10pm. The activities conducted in the past term were reported and the new executive council for the term 2016/2017 was announced.
The technical talk on "Globalization and Challenges Faced by Future Graduates/Engineers" was successfully organised on 19 Ocotber 2016 at Auditorium, USM Engineering Campus. Ir. Bhuvendhraa has briefly introduced IEM eETD (IEM Electrical and Electronic Technical Division). Congratulate to him as well for being elected as the chairman of IEM eETD.
Very much appreciations and gratitude to Dato' Dr. Chuah Hean Teik for coming all the way from Kuala Lumpur to deliver this wonderful talk to the student of USM Engineering Campus. Lastly, thank you all for coming, with hope that you have learnt something useful from this talk.
On 15th October 2016 (Saturday), we have successfully organized Build and Break Competition 2016 for the fifth time. There were a total of 10 groups participated in this competition, each group made up of 8 people. This time, participants were required to build a structural model to support a fully filled 1.5 liter mineral water bottle, above the center point of an inverted blue pail, as given im the rules and regulations of this competition.
