IEM-USM Student Section in collaboration with IEM eETD and School of Electrical and Electronics (PPKEE) has organized Technical Talk on Acoustic Engineering by Knowles and Dialogue Session among PPKEE, Knowles and Sony on May 17 at PPKEE Seminar Room.
Engineering Design Competition (ENGINNOVATE) 2017 was sucessfully organized together with USM Career Fair. This was the first time for the event held at USM as a pre-event of Career Fair 2017. The purpose of the competition is to promote innovative culture in engineering design work and to churn out the brightest talents for product development, further research and commercialization.
The first screening was conducted on 15th February 2017 while the final round was held on 8 March 2017. Congratulations to all contestants and winners.
The testing of model bridges is one of the most popular types of competition for the field of Civil Engineering as it allows students to apply the knowledge learnt in lectures. IEM-USM Student Section has sent a team to participate in the University of Malaya Bridge Building Competition 2017 (UMBBC 2017). The competition was organized by the Department of Civil Engineering, Faculty of Engineering, University of Malaya. The team from USM consists of five third year students from the School of Civil Engineering. They are Cheah Yi Ben, Cheah Zu Yi, Make Chee Fong, Tan Chin Guan and Tan Yih Ken.
IEM-USM Student Section Executive Council 2016/2017 has paid an official visit to IEM Penang Branch on February 25. The purpose of the visit is to foster collaboration with Young Engineers Section (YES) of the IEM Penang Branch. The visit was led by the advisor and pariticpated by eight Executive Council Members of IEM-USM Student Section.
