USM Build and Break Competition 2017
YOU BUILD IT, WE BREAK IT!
USM Build and Break Competition 2017 was sucessfully organized on 11 November 2017 at Dewan Serbaguna from 10am to 6pm. There are 12 teams consisting a maximum of five members in a team. A total of 54 first to third year sutdents from all engineering schools in USM participated in this challenging competition. Each team was required to plan, design and build on the spot a cantilevered structure in three hours using newspaper, cotton string and cellophane tapes. The competed model was then tested until failure. Each team was assessed based on the structural viability, aesthetic appearance and structural performance of the model and presentation. This competition provides an excellent platform to drive creativity and innovation amongst engineering students, enhances comprehension of basic engineering concepts and develops professional skills.
